What are Credits?

The Interior Designer uses Credits to express their interest in a Customer project by 'unlocking the lead'

The Credits system ensures that Interior Designers have a genuine desire to work on a particular project rather than just put themselves forward for everything and anything.  This way we can enhance both the integrity of projects and the relationship between the Customer and Interior Designer.

How do Credits work?

When a Customer submits a project, the system will notify all Interior Designers who fit the criteria.  If you are interested and would like to be shortlisted as 1 of 5* you will need to use your Credits to unlock the lead.  The number of Credits for the project is based on the value of the Customer’s budget.

Customer Budget (For Interior Designer only spend) Credit value for the project
Up to £500 5 credits
£501 - £1000 10 credits
£1001 - £3000 15 credits
£3001 + 20 credits

*If you are shortlisted as 1 of 5 your credits will be deducted.  If not, you keep them.

What about customers that are just researching?

We recognise that sometimes Customers are researching for a project in the future.  At this time, all leads with a timescale of 'Just Researching' have no credit value.  However, you must still unlock the lead if you are interested.

How many Credits do I get with my membership?

  • 180 Credits per month

There is an opportunity to buy more credits if you wish. These are provided in packs of 30 for £18 VAT included.

Do my Credits roll over?

Yes, your credits roll over while you have an active membership. If you cancel and then rejoin at a later date your previous credits become void.

Lead verification

We operate two-factor authentication to validate the customers identity before they are able to submit a lead.

What happens if a lead is fake?

We categorise a fake lead as an incorrect phone number and email address.  If we identify a fake lead, the credits you used to unlock the lead will be refunded.

What happens if I am flexible with my fee and service method?

If you are flexible with your fee range and are happy to offer both face to face and online services, we suggest you select no preference for both options.  This means you will see all leads that meet your experience level as well as those where the Customer has expressed no preference.  If you find yourself receiving too many leads, you can then narrow down your preferences to be more selective.

Remember if you choose to offer both face to face and online services, you will be matched with online projects regardless of the Customers physical location.

I have expressed interest in a project but wasn’t shortlisted to 1 of 5. Why?

Were you too slow in unlocking the lead?  Making sure you regularly check your emails will mean you don't miss any lead notification messages.

Tip - Check your email set-up to see if you can manage incoming emails.  If you can, by prioritising InteriorNet emails you will make sure that you are immediately aware of when a match has been made.

I was shortlisted to 1 of 5, but not chosen. Why?

These are the most common reasons why you may not have been chosen:

  • Is your Designer Bio presented in the best way possible with good quality images?
  • Are you bidding for projects that don’t match your experience?
  • Customers may look at your social media presence and website – do they accurately reflect the professional image you want to portray and are they up to date?
  • Could your communication style with the customer be improved? Research tells us that on average an Interior Designer has to make 5 contacts with a customer to secure a project
  • The customer felt another Interior Designer was the right fit – don’t take it personally!

Remember, you still have to sell yourself. You are competing with a pool of high-quality Interior Designers.

How does the system select which 5 Interior Designers to shortlist?

The system automatically matches project requirements against Interior Designers’ preferences.  The first 5 Interior Designers who express their interest by unlocking the lead will make the shortlist

Can a Customer approach me directly if they like my profile?

Yes.  Your profile is featured in Designer Bios and a customer can review your profile and approach you directly without going through the matching process.

Why do you operate a vetting process?

The vetting process is in place to ensure we offer the highest quality of Interior Designers regardless of whether they are established, emerging or graduates.  This will make sure we are now, and will remain, a credible platform in the marketplace.

How do I categorise myself?

This is a guide to help you position yourself in the right Interior Designer category.

Established: 10+ projects

Emerging: 5+ projects

Graduate: 1+ project or college projects
